Job description

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role shapes and makes a very big impact across the organisation.
Being part of a large well-connected team, you'll closely partner with teams to ensure a customer focus across many of the organisation’s key priorities and deliverables.

You’ll bring collaborative teams together to connect, design and deliver outcomes and solutions that deliver better experiences for Auckland and Aucklanders.

We are looking for someone who can confidentially facilitate a room; navigate ambiguity and has great stakeholder management.

Key responsibilities:
  • Take the reins and size up opportunities, demonstrating the real value of design-driven solutions.
  • Lead, plan, and execute human-centred design activities to tackle even complex challenges, all while ensuring the customer is at the heart of every decision.
  • Use cutting-edge tools and methodologies to understand specific customer needs, lead research, and ensure every solution is tailor-made for the customer.
  • Design, facilitate and lead engaging, customer-centric workshops with cross-functional teams, ensuring every voice is heard.
  • Present your findings and recommendations through powerful storytelling and visually striking designs—bring your ideas to life and get everyone on board.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align customer-focused initiatives with organisation-wide strategies.
  • Be a role model for customer-focused design, coaching and mentoring others to achieve brilliant customer outcomes.
  • Keep your finger on the pulse of global design trends and innovative strategies to continuously elevate customer experiences.
ABOUT YOU
  • 5 years’ experience in human centred design, design thinking, CX strategy, product design or digital delivery
  • Experience in user testing, customer interviews and stakeholder management
  • Working with multiple stakeholders in a complex environment
  • Design-specific visualisation (journey maps, blueprints, behavioural maps etc)
