ABOUT THE ROLE

This is an exciting opportunity for an IT Lead contractor to oversee and manage IT operations, ensuring the efficient and secure delivery of IT services within the company. The IT Lead will play a crucial role in driving IT infrastructure management, supporting business operations, leading a team of 20 across development; security & infrastrcture, data & reporting while aligning technology initiatives with their business transformation strategy.

This is an immediate start contract for 6 months. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership & Team Management:
    • Lead and mentor the IT team, providing direction, coaching, and support to ensure optimal performance and professional growth.
    • Oversee the daily activities of the IT team, including task prioritization and allocation.
    • Foster a collaborative and proactive IT culture that aligns with business needs.
  • IT Strategy & Operations:
    • Develop and implement IT strategies that support organisational goals and objectives.
    • Manage the IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, cloud services, and data centers, to ensure high availability, performance, and scalability.
    • Review vendor relationships. 
    • Oversee IT operations and ensure alignment with security protocols, compliance standards, and best practices.
  • Budgeting & Resource Management:
    • Prepare and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources and investments in technology solutions.
    • Manage vendor relationships, ensuring the best value from IT service providers, software, and hardware purchases.
  • Security & Risk Management:
    • Ensure the security, integrity, and availability of enterprise systems and data, overseeing cybersecurity measures, threat detection, and response plans.
    • Lead efforts in disaster recovery planning and business continuity, ensuring systems can quickly recover from outages or breaches.
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest IT security trends, regulations, and risks affecting the organization.
  • Project Management:
    • Lead and manage IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and within budget.
    • Coordinate cross-functional teams to implement new technologies, software, and systems upgrades.
    • Manage stakeholder communication and ensure the successful integration of IT solutions with business processes.
  • Support & Troubleshooting:
    • Oversee the troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues, ensuring that systems and end-users are fully supported.
    • Maintain and support internal helpdesk teams, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and issue resolution.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
    • Collaborate with other departments to understand their technology needs and deliver efficient solutions.
    • Communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner.
ABOUT YOU: 
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in IT management or a senior IT role, preferably in an enterprise-level environment.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise IT infrastructure, cloud technologies, and IT systems management.
  • Proficiency in managing enterprise networks, servers, databases, and systems.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies, cloud services (AWS, Azure), and ITIL frameworks. 
  • Strong knowledge of security protocols, firewalls, backup, and disaster recovery systems. 
  • Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.).
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong decision-making ability and the capacity to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to align IT solutions with business goals.
