ABOUT THE ROLE: This exciting organisation is looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to design, implement, and maintain their data pipeline and analytics infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AWS tools, Business Intelligence software, and big data technologies. You will work closely with the data science, business and engineering teams to ensure efficient data flow and support data-driven decision-making across the organisation.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using AWS services such as S3, Redshift, Athena, Glue, EMR, etc.
Implement and optimize ETL processes to integrate data from various sources into our data warehouse
Develop and maintain data models to support business intelligence and analytics needs
Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to implement machine learning models and advanced analytics solutions
Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all data systems
Create and maintain documentation for data processes, architectures, and models
Optimise data storage and retrieval processes for improved performance and cost-efficiency
Implement data governance policies and procedures
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for data-related issues
Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering
ABOUT YOU:
2-3 years of experience in data engineering ideally
Proficiency in AWS data services, including S3, Redshift, Glue, EMR, and Athena
Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker
Expertise in MySQL, PostgreSQL and Presto
Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala
Experience with big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, or Hive
Familiarity with data modeling and data warehouse concepts
