ABOUT THE ROLE:

You will work closely with the data science, business and engineering teams to ensure efficient data flow and support data-driven decision-making across the organisation.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using AWS services such as S3, Redshift, Athena, Glue, EMR, etc.
- Implement and optimize ETL processes to integrate data from various sources into our data warehouse
- Develop and maintain data models to support business intelligence and analytics needs
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to implement machine learning models and advanced analytics solutions
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all data systems
- Create and maintain documentation for data processes, architectures, and models
- Optimise data storage and retrieval processes for improved performance and cost-efficiency
- Implement data governance policies and procedures
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for data-related issues
- Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering
ABOUT YOU:
- 2-3 years of experience in data engineering ideally
- Proficiency in AWS data services, including S3, Redshift, Glue, EMR, and Athena
- Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker
- Expertise in MySQL, PostgreSQL and Presto
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala
- Experience with big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, or Hive
- Familiarity with data modeling and data warehouse concepts
- Fully remote from anywhere in NZ considered
- Full work from home set up
